In order to relieve overwhelming stress in the back, you will learn a number of different stretches. Most of these stretches are either spinal flexion or spinal extension. Folding forward to touch your toes is flexing your spine and lifting your chin while reaching hands up to the air is extending your spine. You will also learn to do a big twist laying down on your back at the very end.
These poses will teach you to isolate, target and relieve both the general discomfort and the specific areas of pain. Some of these poses will stretch and lengthen your muscles and other poses will build strength in them.
Carefully selected and arranged in the order they appear, these poses will slowly build up from the easier more accessible ones to the more difficult and challenging ones.
I have struggled with back pain for nearly 25 years. Back pain is the entire reason that I started practicing yoga in the first place. With a handful of yoga stretches, I relieved most of my back pain 20 years ago. But if I don’t keep up with my yoga practice, or if I spend too much time on the couch or laying in bed, my back pain comes right back. As if it never went away at all.
It is my understanding that pain never really goes away. We either get stronger and it no longer bothers us, or we don’t and it always bothers us.
This course was designed to build up strength in your back and core muscles. With gentle stretches and active training, this course will get you back on track so that the relentless experience of pain is something that no longer has any power over you.
A lifelong resource for the stretches and poses you need to relieve your back pain. You don't need to live your life in pain!
