When the perceived pain of potential movement is stong enough to overpower your will to move freely, you feel defeated, ashamed and embarrased. From this place, you will find peace of mind by rationalizing why you are stuck and justifying your lack of mobility so that you don’t have to admit that you have lost your will to overcome.
The only way to get yourself out of this deep sunken place, is to take one step at a time. If you try to do too much at once in hopes that you could potentially feel the relief you are desiring now, you will most likely exhaust yourself before accomplishing your goals and fall right back down to the depths of your confinement.
Following the flow of this course will help you to be in the right place at the right time, doing the right things and feeling the right way. You may be able to complete one video and move right on to the next. You may need to spend a day or two, or a week or two on each video before you are confident in your ability to overcome each obstacle before moving on to the next video.
This course follows a strategic framework so that each lesson build upon the previous one and slowly over time, with practice and consistency, you will be able to freely move up and down and in and out of any chair in any place. With patience, persistence and consistency, you will regain your freedom of mobility.
Follow your desires and move your body freely.
One step at a time, you will get stronger and feel better.

We live in a 3 dimensional world and we can only move in 6 possible directions.
Yoga is the process of becoming more sensitively aware of the things you already know.
In this process, we will learn to feel instead of thinking about how to move.
-
Stretching is strictly for the body, yoga is practiced with the mind as well.
In this process, we are looking to change our physical reality, the way we feel in our bodies. We are looking for something we do not currently have.
Learning to control your breath is the first step towards learning to direct your mind.
When you learn to breathe for the purpose of directing your mind where you choose, you will begin to direct your mind to find the relief and freedom you are looking for.
-
Once you learn to direct your mind to find relief, liberation, mobility and excitement, you will forever be searching for things outside of you to enjoy.
Learning to direct your mind into the feeling of your heartbeat will illuminate the fact that your heart creates the best feelings you could ever come across.
Concentration on the sensations of your heart bring you to a state of meditation. In this state, you will find your relief.
-
We're going to get exactly where we want to go, no matter how far away it seems.
The way we get there is by taking the next right step.
One step at a time, one simple movement at a time, one deep breath at a time. We will relieve the body of stress shining light on the comfort.
-
You're going to get your freedom of mobility back, literally one step at a time.
At this point in your life, every step you take will either cause you more pain or bring your more freedom.
Learn to direct your mind so that it perceives this work as taking steps in the direction of freedom, as opposed to taking steps in the direction of pain and disappointment.

The very idea of forcing my body to do squats sounds unreasonable.
This pose, no matter how uncomfortable or challenging, is a basic human necessity.
Every time you sit down in a chair, you are performing a squat.
Since one of our main goals is to get up and down, in and out of a chair with ease, we will use this exercise to teach the body how to do what is needed.
-
Remember, yoga is a process for becoming more intimately aware of the things you already know.
Nobody needs to practice sitting and standing.
Unless of course sitting and standing presents an obstacle in life.
Unless the process of sitting and standing causes pain, discomfort and exhaustion.
If sitting and standing takes up all of your energy, then doing this practice will increase your energy and grant you the freedom you're looking for.

One common thing you share with every other form of life on this planet, is that you don't like feeling stuck.
If you ever find it challenging to get yourself out of bed or up off of the floor, this practice is going to give you exactly what you need.
We'll break down all of the little subtle movements throughout the transition up off the floor and practice each one on their own.
-
This is the missing piece of the puzzle.
This transition utilizes the strength we built up doing squats and stepping up.
When we get strong doing single isolated movements, we'll be able to confidently string those static poses together into a fluid dyanmic transition.
-
Making sure that we cover all of the 6 directional movements, this downward transition requires you to control your descent.
This is the final isolated transition because it can bring up the most amount of fear.
Having done all of the work to get this point in the course, you now have sufficent strength to know that you will be able to sit comfortably on the floor and get back up with no worries of getting stuck.
-
This video is the proving ground. If you have done the repitions to overcome all of the previous obstacles, then this is the last and only thing you need to work on.
Unless you're looking to get buff, you wont need to do your steps or squats or transitions anymore.
All you will want to practice is the full movement without any physcial discomfort or limitation.
Once you can climb mountains, you stop learning how to walk.
