Yin Yoga practice teaches you to find the sweet spot between receiving benefit from you posture and allowing the discomfort of your posture. This sweet spot is referred to as the edge of your comfort zone. This is the place where all growth happens.
Myofascial release happens when you reach a tipping point in your posture and begin shedding tension, pressure, stress and resistance without exerting effort. This happens in the Yin Yoga practice when you no longer resist the experience of being at the edge of your comfort zone.
Myofascial release is the desired goal of the Yin Yoga practice.
In this workshop, you will learn how to initiate myofascial release on your own, without anyone else’s support. The only way to learn how to put yourself in the sweet spot is to spend time experiencing comfort and discomfort in your body without distraction.
Together, we will move through a traditional Yin Yoga class which consists of about 10 different poses. Each pose will be completely grounded on the floor and held for about 5-7 minutes. You will learn micro adjustments and explore the use of props.
While releasing the resistance of being present in the pose, you’ll seek a mindstate which allows the body to shed the narrative keeping it in pain.
Join this workshop on Saturday, January 17th from 6:30-8:00 pm with Ben
