EVERYTHING, ALL AT ONCE
A Concentrated Workshop
Notifications. Group chats. A dozen half-finished thoughts running at once. Your attention gets pulled in so many directions all day that by the time you actually sit down to focus on something, there's nothing left to focus with. It's not just distraction — it's the feeling of trying to hold everything at once and actually holding none of it well.
Dharana is the yogic practice of concentration — training your attention to rest on one single point, on purpose, instead of scattering wherever the world pulls it. Modern neuroscience even describes something similar: your brain has a wandering, default mode, and a focused, task-positive mode, and most of us have lost the ability to choose between them.
This workshop uses breath and simple points of focus — a candle, a sound, the breath itself — to practice bringing your attention back, again and again, until it starts to feel less like effort and more like a skill you actually own. This is quieter and more mentally demanding than a typical movement class, in a good way. Many people are surprised by how hard it is at first, and how much clearer they feel by the end.
No prior meditation experience is required. This is for anyone who feels like they're trying to do everything, all at once, and getting nowhere.
