Yoga isn't about how good you look in a pose or how far you can bend. At The Grounded Movement at Inner Space, we treat it as a real, practical tool for staying steady in a world you can't control. The truth is, you have more control over how you feel than you think — yoga just gives you a place to practice that. When you build that steadiness on your mat, you carry it with you off the mat, too, so you can stop reacting on autopilot, and move through your day with a clear head and a calm center.

Meditation isn't some rare state you can only reach on a mountaintop. You're already doing a version of it every day — anytime you're completely locked into one thing, whether that's a hard problem at work, a page you're writing, or really listening to someone you love. In those moments, your mind naturally settles into right now. In class, we take that same natural ability develop it with intention.

Samadhi — that deep, still peace at the heart of yoga — isn't some far-off destination. You've probably already felt a taste of it: in a moment of pure flow, when you forget yourself completely in what you're doing, or in the quiet after you finally push through something hard. Yoga doesn't create that peace from scratch. It clears away the noise so you can notice it's already there, right now, not later.

We teach this path to help you find steady ground in the middle of city chaos. Our studio in Riverdale is home to a community that comes from all over — the Bronx, Manhattan, and Westchester — people who are serious about doing real work on themselves. Through steady, breath-by-breath practice, we help you stop looking outside yourself for approval. Come to your mat, quiet the noise in your head, and discover your inner space.

The Grounded Movement at Inner Space offers classes for every body and every level, whether you're looking to relax or work hard. Classes run daily with multiple teachers, and we offer weekend workshops on a rolling basis.
