WHERE TENSION LIVES

A Yin Yoga and Myofascial Release Workshop

WHERE TENSION LIVES

You know the spot. Maybe it's your hips, your shoulders, the base of your neck — somewhere tension has settled in and stayed, no matter how many times you stretch it or crack it or try to shake it loose. That's not random. Tension tends to collect in the same places, held there in the deeper layers of tissue most stretching never actually reaches.

Yin yoga and myofascial release work slower and deeper than a typical class — targeting the fascia, the connective tissue that wraps around your muscles and quietly holds onto years of habits, old injuries, and stress. Instead of stretching quickly and moving on, we hold shapes for several minutes at a time, giving that tissue real time to actually let go.

This is a floor-based, mostly still practice — long, supported holds using props to help your body fully release into each shape without forcing anything. It's slower than you might expect, and often more intense in a quiet, unwinding kind of way rather than an active one. Many people find spots of tension they didn't even know they were holding onto until it finally lets go.

No flexibility or prior yin experience is needed — if anything, this practice tends to be most eye-opening for people who've never spent much time sitting still in their body.
